The Podcast Advertising Study Conducted By Norman Pattiz

Norman Pattiz and Tom Webster of Edison Research have conducted studies regarding the advertising of five national consumer brands. This was the first time campaigns for podcast advertisers were conducted. The studies focused on the consumers intent to purchase and brand recalls.

The studies found more than sixty percent of listeners did mention a particular grocery brand in the post campaign. This was significantly higher than the seven percent figure in the pre-study. Learn more about Norman Pattiz:

Unaided awareness of the products was 47 percent higher in the post-study in regards to a product offering financial services. An automobile product rose 37 percent while a lawn and garden product was 24 percent higher.

The post-study showed more than a third of the respondents were left with a favorable opinion of an automobile product and 22 percent stated they were highly likely to use a particular product for their lawn and garden. The awareness for an automobile product went up sixty percent while a restaurant for casual dining saw an increase of 76 percent.

Three separate studies were conducted in 2016 by Edison Research for five brands on a national level. Some were looking for an increased awareness while others were already well known. The results from before the advertising campaigns were run compared to after four to six weeks of advertising all showed positive results.

Norman Pattiz feels these studies validated his approach to integrated advertising. Tom Webster of Edison Research was excited to be a partner of PodcastOne and have the ability to see the impact of podcast advertising. Since they studied their audience both before and after their campaigns they were able to show that podcast advertising is effective.

According to PR Newswire, Norman Pattiz founded Westwood One. His leadership turned the company into the biggest radio network in America. Their programming is extremely varied and they have covered such events as the Winter and Summer Olympics and The Super Bowl.

PodcastOne was created by Mr. Pattiz in 2010 and became the leader in sales and marketing for podcasts. President Clinton approached Mr. Pattiz in 2000 and again in 2002 to be a member of the United States Broadcasting Board of Governors.

Pattiz was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame nationally in 2009. He was also the recipient of an award for the Giants of Broadcasting. He has an extensive background in broadcasting and has launched numerous television and radio services throughout the Middle East.
